This is brilliant! Scott Adams (I assume he created the theorem as he is the creator of the Dilbert comic strip, but who knows, eh?) is a genius!
Dilbert's
Theorem on Salary
“Engineers
and scientists can never earn as much salary as business executives
and sales people.”
This
theorem can now be supported by a mathematical equation based on the
following two postulates:
Postulate
1:
Knowledge is Power, or Knowledge=Power
Postulate
2:
Time is Money, or Time=Money
As
every engineer knows: Power=Work/Time
Since
Knowledge=Power, and Time=Money, we have:
Knowledge=Work/Money
Solving
for Money, we get:
Money=Work/Knowledge
Thus,
as Knowledge approaches zero (0), Money approaches infinity (),
regardless of the amount of Work done.
Conclusion:
The Less you Know, the More you Make.
After that, go to http://www.begent.org/theorem.htm and check the "management professional" quiz. It's hilarious!
